We had a superb stay at this hotel. The location was unbeatable, with breathtaking views of the sea. The hotel facilities were top-notch, including a large swimming pool and well-kept grounds. The staff provided world-class service, going above and beyond to make our stay special. The breakfast was delicious, offering a wide selection of options.
All was good.

I use to spend some days in La Gavina every year. The staff was as always excellent, the swimming pool area fantastic as the fireplace area perfect to enjoy a whisky reading a book The general atmosphere is wonderful One of my best three hotels in Europe
One remark. The very unpleasant bad smell in the room terrace probably due to a problem in the sewer

The location of this hotel is fantastic, as it is situated close to a wonderful beach that offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. Guests can easily access this small beach by taking a short walk from the hotel. Additionally, the hotel's proximity to the coast allows guests to enjoy stunning ocean views from their rooms.
Some aspects of the hotel could use improvement, such as the noise isolation. The doors in the rooms could be better sealed to reduce the noise from outside, which can be disruptive to guests' tranquility.

The pool and spa were excellent and its situation overlooking the sea and beach were just brilliant.
We stayed in a suite which had no balcony and for the astronomical price we paid I would have expected one. The shower was over the bath and once again I would have expected a separate shower in a suite.

Superb hotel in wonderful location. In fact we stayed here in 1987, nothing much has changed except now hotel has wifi . The service was slick and distinguished . We still think this hotel is something very special , old grandeur but definately not faded, the rooms are superb antiques in abundance. Fabulous bed linen and a range of pillows available . Common areas sumptuous and confortable. We tried three ofthe restaurants/ pool bars and the food was exceptional every where. The only dissapointment for us was that unlike other lhw we were not offered any free water and a litre bottle cost €8.00 which is scandalous. However that aside I would recommend this hotel and we will go back again, hopefully not leaving it another 25 years!
No free water offered in hotel and 50 cent bottles sold for €8.00.

I'm currently staying at this beautiful property in a great seaside location. The hotel is a classic with well-maintained grounds. On our first morning, my Catalunyan friends and I spent time on the beach, followed by a delicious lunch. We were amazed by the design and conservation of the whole headland community, with its classically inspired architecture and a wonderful tree-shaded coastal footpath. The information points on the local geology were uniquely informative, and the views were absolutely stunning. The room is spacious and comfortable, and the service provided is top-notch. The buffet breakfast is excellent, with a wide variety of fresh food. it's a fantastic place to stay and enjoy the surroundings.
The bar service could use some improvement, as the staff seemed unsure and not knowledgeable about certain drinks.

The position of La Gavina is stunning with the swimming pool overlooking the bay of S'agarro. We love the old-school luxury mixed with genuine caring and friendliness from the staff.
Considering they are struggling to get guests this season you would have thought they might drop their prices a bit - it's very pricey!

The place is enchanting. The appointments are exquisite. The location is fantastic! Great place for couples, honeymooners, romance....The surrounding area and beaches are phenomenal!
The only disappointment was that the candlelight restaurant which they are famous for was not open yet. Considering that it was the beginning of July and the weather was fabulous, I do not understand why they had not opened it yet. The hotel staff was very nice and attentive, however, they were mostly new and inexperienced.

Nothing to dislike.

Nice pool and spa with great views over the beach
Very expensive for everything for example 30 euros for a burger and 8 euros for a bottle of water. Also the beds had a plastic sheet base which made boy nights hotter

Fantastic location, magnificent infinity pool, luxurious towels and linens (real linen sheets), quiet, sumptuous old building, service generally attentive (although not very proactive)
Room prices can be justified on the basis of location and quality of amenities, but everything else is way, way overpriced: 35 euros per person for an ordinary buffet breakfast, 50 euros to a 1-hour tennis court (not even complimentary for guests). The maintenance is sub-par: mold starting to appear at the junction of marble and paint in bath- shower (no separate shower), water-stained wall paper not replaced, floor tiles having become unstuck and not glued back, rusted fences Some 3-star items clash with 5-star claim: exposed incandescent regular light bulbs on chandeliers, fluorescent light bulbs on bedside lamps, polyester filled pillows

Gorgeous old world hotel with impeccable service in the " continental" style. The views from Room terrace of the Mediterranean Sea were spectacular. I have travelled extensively, all over the world, and this hotel met the highest standards in every category!
Liked everything- gardens, pool, overlooking the sea, rooms, service. Everything was perfect!

Our stay was wonderful. The hotel has a stunning location with amazing coastal views. The gardens and swimming pool are beautifully kept, providing a relaxing atmosphere. The room was spacious with comfortable amenities and provided a great view of the surrounding area. Breakfast was delightful, with a good range of options to choose from.
The hotel is quite expensive and the service was inconsistent at times. The staff were friendly but not as attentive or overly accommodating as we would have expected.
